About This Lesson

Here is some (editable) text that I created for beginning French I.  This is a simple story that can be glued into the graphic novel Robot Dreams by Sara Varron.  See the first few example pages in the ppt--that's just what pages 1-6 will look like.  Note: there are over 200 pages total.  With the text and accompanying vocabulary, even first year students with little or no background can read and understand this book.  Please note that the story is perhaps too sad for very young students. Students can discuss friendship, loss, and even depression as they read this story about a dog who loses his friend, Robot.  The final chapter is left intentionally sparse, so students may prepare their own text.  The text is appropriate for grades 3 and up, and I've had great success with it even for high school.
