Jessica Lemmo is an award-winning Library Media Specialist with over 25 years of experience in Baltimore City Public Schools. Honored as the 2021 Maryland School Librarian of the Year, she is known for her innovative approach to digital literacy, instructional technology, and student-centered learning.
Jessica’s work goes beyond traditional library services—she integrates both ALA and ISTE standards to create dynamic, future-ready learning environments. Her classroom practices reflect a commitment to blended learning and digital tools, rarely relying on paper and always focused on preparing students for the world they live in.
As a Maryland Elementary Computer Science Coach, certified Common Sense Media Educator, and Mentor Teacher, Jessica equips students to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly while supporting educators in enhancing instruction through technology. She is also an ambassador for numerous EdTech platforms and tools, promoting best practices in digital education across her district and beyond.
Jessica has served as a keynote facilitator for Baltimore City Public Schools Professional Development and was a host for school tours during the School Library Journal Leadership Summit in 2019. She is passionate about teaching learners and equipping educators to responsibly and effectively integrate AI into their teaching.
