About This Webinar

Join AFT President Randi Weingarten for a powerful conversation with MacArthur “Genius” Fellow and community organizer Cristina Jiménez about her national bestselling memoir, Dreaming of Home: How We Turn Fear into Pride, Power, and Real Change.

Jiménez, cofounder of United We Dream—the largest immigrant youth–led network in the United States—has been a leading voice in the fight for immigrant rights and the fight to secure DACA. In Dreaming of Home, she shares her journey from arriving in the United States from Ecuador as an undocumented teenager to becoming a national leader in a movement that changed the lives of millions.

Together, Weingarten and Jiménez will explore themes of identity, belonging and collective action—and how young people organizing together transformed fear and isolation into pride, power and lasting change.

Join us for an inspiring conversation about storytelling, activism and the power of communities to shape a more just future.
