About This Webinar

Come explore how artificial intelligence can support inclusive lesson design! Anticipate learner variability and reduce barriers—without lowering expectations or replacing professional judgment.

Grounded in the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) but designed for educators with no prior experience with the framework, this session focuses on practical, classroom-ready uses of AI. Participants will learn how AI can help you design or redesign lessons so more students can access content, stay engaged, and demonstrate what they know.

Through concrete examples and guided practice, participants will explore how AI can be used to:

  • Offer multiple ways for students to engage with the same learning goal
  • Provide options for students to express their understanding without changing standards or rigor
  • Minimize barriers to learning
  • Support teacher planning

By the end of the session, participants will leave with ready-to-use prompts, lesson redesign ideas, and practical strategies they can implement immediately. This session supports educators in using AI thoughtfully to design lessons that are more flexible, equitable, and responsive to the real variability of learners—while also reducing planning time and instructional burden.

Chief Academic Officer

Jennifer is the Chief Academic Officer at CAST, the organization that created the UDL framework. In her role as CAO, Jennifer oversees the design and delivery of professional learning related to the implementation of Universal Design for Learning in schools, districts, and states. She is a lifelong educator who has dedicated her career to ensuring the academic and personal success of students who have been marginalized by traditional public-school systems. Moved by a belief that education is the key to empowerment, Jennifer’s public-school experience centered on youth involved in the justice system. As an alternative high school principal, she led the implementation of Universal Design for Learning, put restorative practices at the heart of the disciplinary policies, and centered students’ agency in their own learning. Since joining CAST, Jennifer has overseen the design of truly innovative professional learning that builds teacher and student efficacy in education.
