About This Webinar

Career and Technical Education (CTE) is no longer a parallel track—it is a powerful engine for deepening academic learning, increasing student engagement, and preparing learners for a rapidly changing workforce. This interactive webinar will demonstrate how educators can amplify education standards through CTE-aligned instruction, blending core subjects with real-world, career-connected learning experiences.

Participants will explore practical strategies for integrating ELA, math, science, civics, and digital literacy standards into high-demand career pathways such as healthcare, technology, skilled trades, and creative industries. Drawing on proven models used in K–12 schools, P-TECH pathways, and workforce-aligned programs, this session will highlight how hands-on, project-based CTE instruction strengthens academic outcomes while building future-ready skills.

Educators will leave with classroom-ready tools, including sample lesson frameworks, crosswalks between academic standards and CTE competencies, and adaptable project ideas that can be implemented immediately—whether in traditional classrooms, CTE programs, or interdisciplinary settings.

This webinar is part of Share My Lesson's 2026 Virtual Conference. Join the community or register for all sessions.

Founder/Technical Assistance Provider, Know Your Hairitage LLC.

Zenda Walker, MSM, is an award-winning author, celebrity hairstylist, and innovative curriculum strategist whose work sits at the intersection of culture, education, and belonging. As a Technical Assistance Provider, her company, Know Your Hairitage LLC, partners with PK–12 school districts and community-based social service organizations to deliver engaging, standards-aligned learning experiences that foster identity, inclusion, and student engagement. Zenda has spent over twenty years as an educator and marketing leader with global beauty brands including Procter & Gamble, Coty Inc., and Ulta Beauty, where she led consumer education, brand storytelling, and talent development initiatives centered on the powerful relationship between beauty, identity, and self-esteem across the lifespan. That corporate experience—translating culture, science, and consumer insight into meaningful learning—directly informed her transition into children’s literature and curriculum design. Her books, Zara’s Wash Day and Zion’s Crown—published in 2024 in partnership with Running Press Kids—serve as the foundation for interdisciplinary curriculum that amplifies English Language Arts (ELA), Social Studies, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM), as well as vocational and career-connected learning. Through the lens of hairitage—the hair customs, traditions, practices, and beliefs passed down through generations—Zenda uses storytelling to make academic concepts culturally responsive, accessible, and meaningful for learners of all ages. Zenda is currently an Ed.M. candidate at Harvard Graduate School of Education, where her work continues to focus on equity-centered pedagogy, curriculum design, and community-driven learning.
