About This Webinar

Lockdowns. Active shooter threats. Community violence. For far too many students and educators, these experiences aren’t rare - they’re routine. This session explores how repeated exposure to gun violence, both direct and indirect, is reshaping the emotional and mental health landscape of our schools. We’ll draw on student narratives, educator reections, and trauma theory to examine how these stressors affect learning, relationships, and staff sustainability. Participants will explore trauma-informed strategies to support recovery, regulation, and resilience - not just for students, but for the educators carrying them. Whether you’re a counselor, classroom teacher, administrator, or support staff, this session offers practical insights and space to re ect on what it means to teach, lead, and heal in an era of compounding violence.
