About this Course
This microlearning, Beginning Reading Instruction, presents an overview of the reading process and how it relates to the science of reading. Participants will also learn about the characteristics of phonological and phonemic awareness and various processes that aid in sight word recognition.

Expectations for Participants
Complete the entire module to receive your certificate. When you have completed the course, the certificate will be available to download on this page.
Instructors will assess your coursework within 3 business days.

Professional Credit
Share My Lesson microlearnings are available for one hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

New York State Education Department-approved provider for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) requirements
Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approved professional development provider for Illinois Federation of Teachers members

AFT Pennsylvania members can submit their PD certificate to Philadelphia’s Health & Welfare Department for Act48 credit approval
Indiana educators can receive PD credit by submitting webinar details to their principal for approval and uploading their certificate to the LVIS system.
